The present study was designed to assess the nutritional status of disabled (mental and physical handicap) patients of chilledhood and adolescence age groups residing at four different long stay hostels of Benghazi city. since it is a largely neglected area of knowledge and research in the field of nutrition. Severely disabled children are known to be at high risk for developing malnutrition. The study was carried out in a total of 65 patients (76% male and 24% female) including 42% patients disable with blindness and the rest of 59% patients with mental and physical handicap. Background information of these patients were collected through a questionnaire about their age. sex. form of disability. and the severity of activity level (mild. moderate. severely, or profound). The age distribution of this study includes only disabled patients belonging to children and adolescents group of age from 10 to 12 years (24%). 13 to 15 years (37.65%). 16 to 18 years (27.06%) and 19 to 21 years (10.60%) This study was mainly focused to determine the BM!
